I’m going for it….

I’m going for it…(I truly hope you are making time to get out in nature now more than ever – nature does provide a special kind of medicine!)Memorial Day Weekend traditionally marks the start of summer and the camping season for millions of Americans. In fact, it is considered one of the two busiest camp weekends of the year (Fourth of July is the other). Ironically it is a weekend I don’t usually camp. The past few years I’ve been driving the support vehicle for the Kinetic Team Hamtastic. I skipped it prior to this because I just like to avoid the stress of campsite competition. After all, there is still 4 more months of summer. This year I’m going for it. The Forest Service has started to open a few of there more popular sites, State parks and BLM are still closed. I can imagine opening these areas is a very difficult decision. Example, although the King Range is 68,000 acres there are only a handful of places to access this wild area – which can become very crowded at good times. But y’all know I prefer out of the way. If you are up for the adventure there are thousands of acres of wild solitude thanks to our national treasure – PUBLIC LAND. And, well, that is where I’m off too, off the grid, visiting with nature, out in the wilds. This time under a new moon, which means No Moon. Get outside and celebrate the wonderful open, free and wild spaces we have in our good ole U.S.A.
