Everywhere is perfect anytime of year!

Long shadows, crispy air and starry nights…There is a special kind of sweetness when camping on the fringe of summer. A treat for the senses to be sure, the dew saturated world wafting earthly and bountiful aromas, bright sparkling skies, crunchy leaves. Lighting the campfire feeling nearly ceremonial. Here’s my top picks for Fall Camping in NW Cali:

  • Mary Smith C.G. on Lewiston Lake. Tent cabins with queen size beds & down comforters!
  • Gold Bluff Beach C.G. and Mattole C.G. Fall brings with it beautiful weather on the coast and fewer visitors.
  • Elk Prairie, Patrick’s Point or Jedediah Smith State Parks. These Parks are spectacularly beautiful places. Bonus – Beginning Oct 1 each year the State Park camping becomes first come first serve and the number visitors dwindles.
  • Horse Flat C.G. near Coffee Creek. Maples and Dogwoods paint the forest with fall color in these woods along Eagle Creek.

Who am I kidding, everywhere is perfect anytime of year!
