My sidekick – my four paw puppy pal – RiderHe is a fun-loving companion. He’s always up for an adventure. Loves to swim. He keeps me walking and exploring. He’s also not very brave. He’s not at all a watch dog. He runs off. He doesn’t like buzzing insects. He goes to bed early. He wakes up way too early. He gets poison oak, (I know, right. Turns out dogs can get it.) He pee’s on everything.Yep, he’s high maintenance. But I just love him – He ripples happy and good vibes. He’s happy, I’m happy – A few tricks I’ve learned camping with Rider:
- Bring his bed
- Keep him tethered to the 50′ long line (mostly)
- Once a day let him run free off leash (supervised)
- Bring doggy first aid: Benadryl (1 mg per pound of body weight) & Rescue Remedy Pet. I’ve had to use both!
- Bring Mosquito Repellent for pups (make your own)
- Feed him on a regular schedule
- Bring a dog brush
- Bring a toy
Some of the most fun I’ve had is when I follow his lead!
